Addressing a high-level meeting to evaluate progress in various SEZs, the prime minister stated that it is critical to offer all amenities; including gas, electricity, and land development, to encourage more Chinese investors and companies to set up industries in Pakistan. PM Khan stated that an increase in SEZ development and industrialization will generate revenue and create jobs for Pakistani youth, who account for 65 % of the total population.
According to sources, the premier was informed of the continuing development work on the country’s 27 SEZs. It was reported that construction on five SEZs; including Dhabeji in Sindh, Rashakai in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Bostan in Balochistan, Allama Iqbal Industrial City in Punjab, and Gwadar in Balochistan, is proceeding at an expedited pace. Moreover, the attendees were informed that to facilitate the investors and resolve problems related to the colonisation of the land, a one-window centre is established at each SEZ and in the CPEC Authority.
