Islamabad: The Prime Minister Imran Khan has constituted a committee to execute the government’s affordable housing plans, a news source reported. The committee will be headed by Housing and Works Secretary Dr Imran Zeb Khan.
The committee will devise a comprehensive plan in consultation with the real estate experts and other stakeholders. The government plans to construct five million low-cost housing units under the project. The PM has instructed the committee to submit its recommendations within a week. He also said that the private sector should be encouraged along these lines as well.
The construction of low-cost houses is not only expected to reduce the housing shortage in Pakistan, it will also help improve economy and provide jobs.
