Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Monday sought suggestions from the business community with respect to developing the country’s economy.
He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting with several business community representatives. Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI) President Irfan Wahab led the delegation.

The prime minister said that the government wanted non-taxpayers, as well as the informal sectors, to join the documented economy. To facilitate this measure, the departments concerned have been tasked with devising a comprehensive plan.
The PM said that the utmost efforts were made during the past six month to stabilise the economy. He remarked that now was the time to make further efforts toward achieving economic growth.

Furthermore, the prime minister informed that trade and investment constituted the key priorities for his government. He added that overseas Pakistanis would be facilitated in every possible way.
In response, the OICCI president briefed the PM on a future international investment conference. This proposed forum would provide an insight into Pakistan’s economic potential.
