Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Monday directed the authorities concerned to finalise the ‘Karachi Transformation Plan’ within a week’s time frame, in a bid to timely resolve the major civic issues faced by the metropolis, according to news sources.

Khan made this announcement while presiding over a meeting at the Prime Minister House and issued instructions for the ‘Karachi Transformation Plan’ to be finalised in consultation with the stakeholders. During the meeting, the Ministry for Planning offered a presentation on the said plan.
Moreover, Khan highlighted that the federal government is aware of the ‘sufferings of the people due to the civic issues and will effectively play its role in mitigating them’. He further associated the country’s progress with the progress of the metropolis.

Furthermore, the prime minister was appraised regarding Karachi’s problems that include potable water, transport, solid waste management and the sewerage systems. He was also updated on the proposals that aimed to resolve the issues on a permanent basis.
