Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has directed the ministries concerned to study the master plans of all big cities in Pakistan in order to create an all-inclusive strategy for the provision of residential facilities to the general public, according to news sources. Further, he instructed all the provincial secretaries to collect information on unused public land within a week, so it could be utilised for building houses for the society’s low-income groups.
He was chairing a meeting to review the progress on Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP). The meeting was informed that tax levied on the NPHP construction phase will be waived off and that this proposal was presently tabled before the provinces for approval.

The participants were also told that Capital Value Tax and E-stamp paper issuance rates are also being reduced to facilitate people and housing/construction sector.
The PM announced that an online portal (linked with relevant government offices for the housing sector) will be launched by provincial governments to promote ease-of-doing-business in the housing industry. This step will eliminate the hassle faced by the businessmen in obtaining No Objection Certifications (NOCs) and other permits.

The PM was also informed about the progress on waiving off the NOC required from Aviation Division for the development of multi-storey structures.
