Rawalpindi: The Prime Minister has asked Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to brief him over various projects being built in the city including a tower in front of the iconic Liaquat Bagh Sports Complex and five other commercial parking centres, a news source reported.
According to RDA Chairman Arif Abbasi, Prime Minister Imran Khan will likely be briefed in the first 10 days of December, adding that they have started preparing material for the briefing. Abbasi had met the PM on along with Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Naeemul Haq.
He said that each city has some sort of symbol that identify it. Islamabad has Faisal Mosque, parliament building, and even the Supreme Court buildings, Lahore has Minar-e-Pakistan and Badshahi Mosque, while Karachi has Quaid’s mausoleum in Karachi, but Rawalpindi does not have any.
He spoke of RDA Tower to be the face of Rawalpindi, a multi-storey building covering an area of 13 kanals to be built in front of the mini-sports complex.
