Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Tuesday approved a proposed revision to the upper limit of loans sanctioned under Kamyab Jawan programme to PKR 25 million – from the existing ceiling of PKR 5 million, a news source reported.

As per the publication, the loan amount under Prime Minister’s Kamyab Jawan programme has been enhanced to facilitate the youth into starting big business ventures. For the purpose, the premier held a meeting with Special Assistant in Youth Affairs Usman Dar and Adviser on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh.

Furthermore, the prime minister also approved the mark-up rate loans to be reduced from 8 percent. Khan said that the government would encourage young entrepreneurs further as the coronavirus crisis ebbs away and lockdown is relaxed.

Previously, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) had announced that they would finance the Prime Minister’s Kamyab Jawan programme and decided to release USD 200 million for youth development and financing them to advance their businesses.
