Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has ordered the timely completion of projects launched under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), a news source reported. He further directed the officials concerned to expedite the development pace of these initiatives in order to create employment opportunities, according to news sources.
He issued these instructions while presiding over a financial year meeting of PSDP (2019-20). The meeting reviewed the progress pace of the various development projects ongoing across the country.
Minister for Planning, Development & Reforms Asad Umar, Minister for National Food Security Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood, Special Assistant to the PM on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, Chairman Planning Commission, Secretary Planning Commission, and other concerned officials were all present at the occasion.

The PM received a briefing on first and second quarterly progress of PSDP and was presented with a report on various ministries’ detailed progress in terms of on-going development projects. He assured the meeting that despite the economic difficulties, the government was striving to stabilise and then develop the economy.
Moreover, he called for long-term planning and inter-departmental coordination and cooperation to realise the government’s dream of sustainable economic development.

The meeting attendees were informed that owing to the fact that the government had simplified the process of approval for various projects and release of funds, no project should face delays. The PM remarked that the rightful execution and implantation of projects should be carefully monitored.
