Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Monday reviewed progress on the New Balakot City project, a news source reported. He chaired a review meeting in this regard, which also discussed the city’s transformation into a tourism hub.

Officials concerned attending the meeting informed the PM about the progress on the New Balakot City Project. They revealed that authorities were moving forward on addressing the legal, financial, and administrative issues that had delayed the progress of the project.
The meeting also discussed the strategy for converting the city into a tourism hub, and a modern residential and business city. PM Khan lauded the efforts of the authorities concerned on reviving the stalled project. He added that the new city’s location had high potential for attracting both domestic and international tourists. He said that it would help contribute to the national economy.

Addressing the meeting, the PM also stressed on the country’s overall potential for tourism. He said it was important to tap into this potential. He added that they should develop new tourism hubs at different tourist sites. He opined that this would not only boost tourism in Pakistan, but create increased job opportunities as well.
