Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan reviewed preparations regarding the projects Pakistan and China would initiate as part of the second phase of the multi-billion economic corridor (CPEC) project, a news source reported.

The prime minister, who was chairing a high-level meeting in Islamabad, said that the second phase would focus on the development of agriculture, education and various other sectors.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, Minister for National Food Security and Research Sahibzada Mahboob Sultan, Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood, Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, and Minister for Power Omar Ayub Khan attended the meeting.
The PM said that development projects pertaining to agriculture, education, health, water, skill-development, transport – including the completion of Main Line-1 will be initiated on priority.

PM Imran, who is scheduled to visit Beijing later this month, said he wanted other countries to join the CPEC project so that the whole region could benefit from it.
