Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Wednesday reviewed the state of activities initiated in the wake of the government’s construction incentive package announcement — a news source reported. He also took note of the commencement profiles of a number of housing schemes and assured the business community that the government would continue to facilitate them in their endeavours.

The PM stated that the development of the construction sector and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) would not only boost the national economy, but also generate jobs for the country’s youths. He added that the development of these two sectors was his government’s top priority.

The premier made these comments during a meeting, in which he was also briefed about the various ways in which other regional economies had suffered due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, he was further informed that due to the federal government’s strategy, the losses had been minimised in Pakistan — with economic activities having been resumed once again. The PM also took the opportunity to direct the officials concerned to formulate methods aimed at improving the provision of mobile and internet services in the backward areas of the country.
