Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Wednesday reiterated his government’s commitment to completing all ongoing China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, a news source reported. He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing in Islamabad.

The PM said that he understood the importance of the CPEC initiatives; adding that his government attached a high priority to their completion. He laid emphasis on Pakistan’s pledge towards fulfilling all CPEC commitments. He said that the multi-billion dollar initiative had significantly impacted the country’s prosperity and development. Moreover, he reiterated Pakistan’s determination to further strengthening its ‘all-weather strategic cooperative partnership’ with China.

The Chinese delegation relayed the Chinese President Xi Jinping’s best wishes to the PM. The President had described the friendship between China and Pakistan as “rock solid” and stressed the importance of this relationship. He stated that he wanted to build a closer relationship between both countries in the coming years. The PM sent his gratitude via the ambassador for the President.
