Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Saturday praised the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) for registering a 65% increase in revenue during the coronavirus pandemic situation in the province, a news source reported. He further stated that the growth recorded by the KPRA was higher than any other revenue authority in the country.

The premier said that this growth had been a result of the ‘province’s leadership, performance management, monthly stocktakes and institutional strengthening.’
As per the graphs shared by the PM, KPRA’s revenue increased by 65% to PKR 17.2 billion, while the Balochistan Revenue Authority’s (BRA) revenue increased by 47%, Sindh Revenue Board’s revenue rose by 8%, Federal Board of Revenue’s revenue increased by 3%, and that of the Punjab Revenue Authority by 2%.

The 65% growth is also the highest revenue growth seen in recent years. In Fiscal Year 2015-16 (FY 2015-16), the revenue was seen to rise by 15.6% to PKR 72.6 billion; in FY 2016-17 the revenue increased by 41.5% to PKR 10.27 billion; in FY 2017-18, the increase was 6.3% up to PKR 10.92 billion; in FY 2018-19, KPRA saw a decline in revenue by 4.7% but during FY 2019-20, it was seen to rise by 65.2% to PKR 17.2 billion.
