Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday (January 03) inaugurated Pakistan’s first Pak-China Business Investment Forum to enhance cooperation between businesses of the two countries, news sources reported. The forum will bring the business community together and enhance information flow vital for Pakistan’s export sector.

According to the report, the forum will bring together 18 Chinese and 19 Pakistani enterprises to share knowledge, transfer technology, encourage sustainable investment, export, and the development of modern technology in Pakistan. He also stated that the Board of Investment (BoI) is collaborating with stakeholders to establish investment-friendly infrastructure and regulations that would attract more Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into the country. The premier also said that Pakistan has much to learn about urbanization and urban planning from China. As a technological leader, China, he claims, has produced technologies and skills that, if embraced by Pakistan, will aid in addressing food security and sustainable development challenges.

The PM also stated that, like Turkey and China, Pakistan must improve and diversify its export base sector in order to generate revenue and provide prosperity to the country’s people.
