Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Thursday issued directives for all the provincial chief secretaries to fast track the approval-process of the pending applications related to the construction and the housing sector, according to news sources.

The premier made these remarks while chairing the weekly meeting of the National Coordination Committee (NCC) for Housing, Construction and Development. He said that the development of the construction sector is key to stability and growth of the national economy.
Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed briefed the prime minister regarding various developments in the construction sector – including the incentives being offered for various sectors in the capital city. The PM was also briefed about new projects in Park Enclave III, Blue Area, the progress in the auction of commercial plots and the CDA’s complete automation initiative. He was told that the fee for the floor area ration has been reduced by 55% and facilities of mortgage and insurance has been simplified.

Moreover, the authority’s chairman said that since June, 429 out of 578 applications for residential and commercial projects have been approved. The provincial chief secretaries also appraised the meeting regarding the number of applications received and their approval status.
