Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has ordered the optimal and timely utilisation of the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) funds, a news source reported. He expressed his concerns while chairing a review meeting on the progress of PSDP at the PM Office.
The officials concerned briefed PM Khan that they were taking all possible measures to remove hurdles impeding the implementation of the approved projects. The officials also presented a detailed report on the utilisation of PSDP funds released by various ministries and divisions during the first quarter of the fiscal year 2019-20.
Indicating under-utilisation of funds, the PM directed the Planning Commission to submit a monthly performance review report in order to determine reasons behind this issue.
PM Khan opined that only the timely execution of all PSDP projects would turn the economy’s wheels. He added that the authorities concerned should expedite the disbursement of funds to the ministries executing uplift projects.
