As per the statement issued by the PM office, Khan said the biggest civic issues in Karachi were caused by the lack of transfer of administrative powers to the gross-root level. He said that “It is the need of the hour to shift control on water supply schemes, sewerage treatment and disposal, solid waste management and the building control authority from the provincial government to the city administrator or local government to address these problems in Karachi”.
Meanwhile, while chairing a National Coordination Committee (NCC) meeting held regarding construction, housing and development, the PM instructed the authority to revise the master plans of major cities on an expedited basis and submit their progress regularly.
