Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Wednesday directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to ensure the provision of necessary facilities for differently-abled persons, a news source reported.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) issued a written order to this effect. The premier directed the civic agency to take immediate measures for providing infrastructure such as ramps, lifts and toilets in public spaces for people with special needs.
Moreover, he called for developing new public areas and buildings in the capital city in a way to cater to the needs of the differently-abled community.

The order stated that CDA must also ensure the provision of the said facilities in the private buildings within its jurisdiction. It added that the authority has to report to the PM about its progress on a monthly basis.
