The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) confirmed the news on Twitter and the timetable for the project’s pre-qualification bid meeting. PM Shehbaz directed that work on solar power projects start right away. He also ordered a pre-bid conference for all parties in the second week of September. It was also announced that solar electricity will be distributed to government buildings, electric and diesel-powered tube wells, and low-unit residential consumers in the first phase. Similarly, the government will gradually shift away from expensive fossil fuel-based energy infrastructure and toward ecologically friendly energy sources like solar and wind power.

It is also vital to highlight that the country is struggling from a massive energy shortage, with power plants closing down due to rising energy costs and international price increases. The government promised consumer assistance to compensate for the highest inflation rate since 1973. Solar energy projects, according to experts, will be less expensive for the government to run.
