Islamabad: The Youth Affairs Ministry on Saturday announced the federal government’s decision to register volunteers for Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s ‘Corona Relief Tigers’ youth team from March 31 onwards, a news source reported.

As per the publication, the citizens would be enabled to register themselves online via the PM office portal by filling out their details, such as name, age, and phone number, etc., on a digital form. Those interested in joining the volunteer ‘Corona Relief Tigers’ force must be above the legal age of 18, the ministry informed.

The volunteers are expected to work under the deputy commissioner (DC) of the district and they will be tasked to deliver food items to the deserving communities in their respective union councils. The volunteers will also monitor the suspected coronavirus patients in quarantine centres, and identify those who hoard food items.

In a separate development, the Punjab government announced on Saturday that the Chief Minister’s (CM’s) Mujahid Volunteer Force would be launched soon — with the team expected to look after coronavirus patients and deliver medicines to hospitals.
