Rawalpindi: Prime Minister Pakistan Imran Khan on Monday (August 2) said the Kamyab Pakistan Programme will be launched Aug 9, 2021, to create opportunities for the poor segments of the society, news sources reported.

The prime minister made this announcement while he was speaking at the concluding ceremony of the three-day Interior, Construction, Electrical and Electronics Expo (ICEE) organised by the Rawalpindi Chamber of Conference and Industries (RCCI) here in Rawalpindi’s Pak-China Friendship Centre. The expo was organised in collaboration with the Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority (NAPHDA) in order to promote the housing sector and construction industry.
Under the programme, the premier announced, each member of the underprivileged family will get technical training, an interest-free loan for the construction of houses and up to PKR 1 million treatment facilities with health cards.
Furthermore, underlining the contours of the policy, the premier said that the main aim is to pull maximum people out of poverty and create wealth through sustainable methods and export-oriented industry promotion.

Additionally, he stated that the government has launched low-cost home financing to give low-interest loans to stimulate the construction sector, and that interest rates have been frozen at 3 and 5 % to benefit the middle-to-low income segments. He also highlighted the efforts of the government to mitigate the effects of global warming through the Billion Tree Tsunami project and plantation drive.
