Reportedly, the Special Representative of the Prime Minister on Middle East Tahir Ashrafi confirmed that PM Khan is to attend the event after he was invited by Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman. The said invitation was extended a few months back in July.
During his visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the prime minister is also expected to hold bilateral meetings to enhance relations with Saudi leadership.

Previously in March, the Saudi leadership launched the Saudi Green and Middle East Green schemes with an objective to slash carbon emissions by 60%. This reduction in carbon emissions is to be achieved through clean hydrocarbon technologies and the plantation of 50 billion trees, 10 billion of which will be planted in Saudi Arabia.
It was highlighted that the Saudi initiatives are in line with PM Khan’s flagship climate change initiative and during the summit, international and regional leaders will come together to further motivate ‘consensus to deliver against shared environmental commitments’.
