Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Tuesday has launched the Spring Tree Plantation Drive-2022 in the capital city on World Scout Day, according to the news sources.

PM Khan, while addressing the public at the ceremony, stated that the government’s ’10 Billion Tree Tsunami Programme’ was introduced to protect posterity. He went on to say that Pakistan is among the ten countries most vulnerable to climate change. PM Khan mentioned that planting trees will help future generations.

During the event, the premier directed that every family should plant five trees for a better future. He pointed out that Pakistan is blessed as every type of plant and fruit can grow easily. He further added that 540 million trees will be planted during the spring season. Speaking at the ceremony, Special Assistant to the PM on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam disclosed that more than 1.4 billion trees were planted under the 10 billion tree tsunami initiative.
