Naran: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday said that the tourism industry needs major uplift programmes to play its role in the economy and announced the establishment of a tourism zone to promote the scenic spots in the country, news sources reported.

During a visit to Naran and Kaghan Valley, the premier stated that presently only summer tourism is being pushed and that winter tourism also needs to be focused to reap the benefits. He underlined that only through peace and security will we be able to increase tourism revenue.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Imran Khan stated that the government has identified 15 other areas where improvements may be made to make it more accessible to locals and foreign tourists visiting Pakistan. He further said that the KP government shall build resorts alongside the lakes.

In another development, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister of Housing Dr Amjad Ali has said that the government has approved PKR 10 million for the development and rehabilitation of the “Shamozai Bridge” in Swat valley.
He also stated that the Shamozai Bridge and Lake will be developed as tourist destinations. It will help to enhance the local economy and bring prosperity to the locals. This will also help to improve the soft image of the KP.
