Chakwal: Prime Minister Imran on Sunday laid the foundation stone for a number of mega projects in Chakwal, a news source reported. These uplift schemes included the Chakwal University, a 500-bed hospital, a Law College and the Ring Road.

According to the details revealed, the University of Chakwal will be developed at a cost of PKR 1.457 billion and will be located near Balkassar Interchange on Motorway M-2 Section. The university will be established over an area of 941 kanals and the project will be funded by the Government of Punjab, while the Communication & Works department will be the executing agency.
The project was approved earlier this month by the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP). The development work will involve construction of academic block, two boys’ hostels, a bachelor hostel, common facilities and external development.

The PM’s visit is a part of the government’s agenda to launch development projects in the less-developed areas of the country.
