Karachi: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Friday (December 10) inaugurated the long-awaited Green Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project during a long-day visit to Karachi, according to news sources.

As per the details, it is the first mass transit project of the city that will start operation, on a trial run, from Saturday (December 11) till Friday (December 24). The full-scale operation of Green Line Bus Service will start on January 10. During the visit, the PM inspected the infrastructure of the bus service and was briefed about the ticketing system.
PM Khan, while speaking at the event, appreciated the efforts of Sindh Infrastructure Development Company Limited (SIDCL) and parliamentarians of Karachi. PM termed Karachi as ‘Pakistan’s engine of growth’ and stated that its prosperity had a positive impact on the entire country. He went on to say that the Green Line bus service was the first step towards building a modern city.

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar were also present at the ceremony.
