The three-day Housing & Construction Expo 2021 organised by the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) ended on Sunday (September 05), news sources reported. Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Friday (September 3) kick-started the expo to promote the construction industry in the country.

At the inauguration ceremony, the premier said that the property and real estate sector has been the largest job-creating sector with millions of people directly and indirectly associated with it. He said that the government is facilitating the real estate developers by removing impediments in the way of providing low-cost houses for 220 million people. In this regard, the housing mortgage policy has been implemented in the country to overcome the housing shortfall. PM Khan urged the real estate developers to depend less on imports and utilise locally available resources in the country.

Moreover, Prime Minister Imran Khan further stated that the problem of lease renewal for industrial units in Islamabad will be settled during a meeting of the National Coordination Committee on Construction (NCCC). ICCI President Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan announced the construction of one million homes under the Prime Minister’s Naya Pakistan Housing Programme. The conference hosted several events with representation from commercial banks, the Board of Investment, the State Bank of Pakistan, construction-related enterprises and businesses such as real estate developers, marketing firms, cement, marble, tiles, electronics, cable, and many more.
