Quetta: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Wednesday performed the groundbreaking of three road projects during a day-long visit to Quetta – where he iterated the government’s commitment to revolutionize Balochistan through projects of infrastructure and human development, according to news sources.

Reportedly, the PM addressed the groundbreaking ceremony and said that despite financial constraints, the government is resolved to divert funds towards Balochistan’s development. He highlighted that within his term, the government has completed road infrastructure spanning 3,300-kilometres within two-and-a-half years. During this ceremony, the PM laid foundation stones for:
- 162-kilometre-long Ziarat-Harnai road
- 11-kilometre-long Dera Murad Jamali Bypass (N-65)
- 23-kilometre-long dualisation of Quetta Western Bypass (N-25)
These projects are being launched under the National Highway Authority (NHA). Mr khan stated that the entire area bordering the western route of China-Pakistan-Economic-Corridor will be developed.

Furthermore, Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani also addressed the occasion and opined the importance of road connectivity of Quetta with Naseerbad and Sibi through road dualisation. He announced that the provincial government will contribute PKR 35billion for the provincial development, in addition to the PKR 20 billion allocated by the federal government.
