Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has invited investors to tap the clean energy resources of the country, according to news published on October 25.

While addressing the Future Investment Initiative Summit in Riyadh, the premier stated that the clean energy potential will be the driver of economic prosperity and highlighted the need for collective efforts. During the summit, PM Shehbaz invited investors to take advantage of the potential of the country’s solar sector. He went on to say that he is leading the development of 10,000 megawatts (MW) of solar power in a bid to decrease reliance on fossil fuel and meet the high load demand. He mentioned that Pakistan cannot afford to import oil for generating power.

Moreover, the PM proposed that the Future Investment Initiative must consider setting up a satellite centre in one of the top universities to explore the growing market and promote entrepreneurial innovation among the young population.
