Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Thursday (April 07) inaugurated Pakistan’s first integrated emergency helpline ‘911’, news sources reported. The newly launched integrated Pakistan Emergency Helpline (PEHEL)-911 will act as a relay centre for various emergency services working in the country.

Reportedly, in the inaugural ceremony held here in Islamabad, the premier said that the government had launched many public interest projects for the welfare of the people. He said that the said emergency service aims to better facilitate the masses. Mr Khan said on the occasion that it is the state’s responsibility to improve the people’s lives and give them better facilities. He also reiterated the government’s vision is to transform Pakistan into a welfare state on the pattern of Riyasat-e-Madina.

Moreover, he also said that the government had launched easy loan projects under the Kamyab Jawan Programme and Kamyab Pakistan Programme that will help increase job opportunities and make the business environment better for the country. It is pertinent to mention here that the now callers can dial the 911 emergency response centre to direct their call to the concerned departments like fire brigade, disaster recovery, health assistance and motorway police etc.
