Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan is set to inaugurate his government’s five million housing project in Islamabad and Quetta this month, a news source reported. The Federal Minister for Housing & Works Tariq Bashir Cheema has stated that the PM will launch the project in Islamabad on April 17, and in Quetta on April 21.

Cheema said that authorities concerned have identified five locations in the capital city to begin work on the project. He said that he could not provide any specific information regarding the chosen locations.
Speaking on other issues, Cheema said that the government would try its best to offer relief to public employees. He stated that he was aware of worrying cases of people having paid instalments for their properties, but not getting any house or plot options allotted to their names in return.

The minister also commented on the non-government employees residing in Gulshan Jinnah. He said that these individuals would have to leave since the said housing scheme is reserved strictly for government servants. He added that the court has also issued an order to expedite their departure.
