Lahore: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Wednesday expressed his hope that Pakistan would become one of the world’s top investment destinations by 2020, a news source reported. He made this statement on Twitter following the news that the country had gone up 28 positions in the World Bank’s (WB) ‘Ease of Doing Business 2020’ report.

The PM lauded the efforts of individuals who worked hard to achieve this goal of the current government’s manifesto. He added that the country still had a long way to go.
In terms of ease of doing business, Pakistan jumped from the 136th to the 108th position in the WB report. Additionally, the country has also secured a position among the top countries for the most improved business climate.
According to the WB report, Pakistan introduced six reforms within the last year due to which its ease of doing business ranking improved.

The incumbent government has stressed its efforts on enhancing the quality of the country’s economy since coming into power in 2018.
