Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a meeting on remittances from overseas Pakistanis, a news source reported.
He directed Special Assistant to PM for Overseas Pakistanis Syed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari to adopt policies facilitating the overseas Pakistanis. He called for efforts to provide facilities to their families here as well.
State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Governor Tariq Bajwa briefed the meeting on remittances. He said that during the first six months of the current fiscal year, the remittances increased by 12.5%. He also hoped that the USD 22 billion annual target will be met easily.

The SBP governor pointed out a significant improvement in remittances. He said this was the result of incentives to banks, promotion of M-Wallet scheme and relaxation in taxes.
The meeting also allowed the establishment of National Challenges Bank, in principle.
