Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Saturday said that his vision for future constructions in the country was to prioritise more high-rise building developments – and ensure more green areas.

In a series of tweets, the prime minister shared his vision for developing future cities. He said that the present government would ‘avoid large sprawling built-up areas’.
He further stated that laws were being formulated for constructing international standard high-rise buildings countrywide.
Previously, the PM had barred the Punjab government from developing low-cost houses under the NPHP project on agricultural land. Instead, he asked the authorities concerned to construct multi-storey houses.

Moreover, he ordered re-structuring of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA); with its updated jurisdiction restricted only to Lahore city. He also stressed the need to formulate by-laws in a bid to fix the height of high-rise buildings in urban areas.
