Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan is set to begin a 4-day visit to China – scheduled from April 25 to 28 – to attend the Belt & Road Forum, a news source reported. The PM will meet the Chinese leadership to hold bilateral talks regarding the new phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Both sides will also discuss other issues of mutual interest.

According to the Foreign Office, PM Khan will attend the second Belt and Road Forum in Beijing. Sources told that he will meet with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang. The two countries are expected to sign several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements for encouraging bilateral cooperation.

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Yao Jing, has stated that all joint ventures and investments should be treated as CPEC priorities. He added that both countries have agreed to involve third party partners in CPEC projects.
