Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan chaired a meeting to discuss the digitisation of government processes, a news source reported. Special Assistant to PM Sayed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari invited a team of Pakistani IT experts from UAE. The discussion focused on how latest IT solutions like blockchain can help bring transparency and efficiency- eliminating red-tapism – to government processes.

The IT experts briefed the PM on how to move forward with the digitisation of the administrative processes to improve the service delivery. They proposed to establish a next generation trade platform for Pakistan, which will bring the country into the next era of trade efficiency with its business partners.

The PM stated that digitisation is essential for ensuring transparency and efficiency in conducting official business matters. He added that IT solutions will resolve several major issues that have disrupted steady economy growth in the past. He said that digitisation will help create the required strong cooperation among government organisations to make frictionless service delivery and ease of doing business possible in the country.
