Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Thursday directed the Ministry of Maritime Affairs to complete all the allied projects of Gwadar Port on a priority basis, a news source reported. The PM gave the said directives while chairing a meeting to discuss the matters related to the ministry.

During the meeting, PM Khan highlighted the strategic location of the Gwadar Port. He added that the project would lead to future prosperity of Pakistan. He also extended his appreciation to Maritime Affairs Ministry for it performance.
PM Khan emphasized the importance of inter-ministerial coordination in order to timely execute the ongoing and future projects in the country. Addressing the attendees, the PM directed for prioritising the development projects as well as defining the timeline for each one.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi gave a briefing on the performance of the ministry within the last 22 months. He added that the incumbent government was currently preparing a roadmap for the development of the Blue Economy sector.
