Lahore: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has directed the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to take measures for boosting the workings of the local construction/infrastructures industry and improving public services delivery within the city, according to news sources.

Khan issued these directives while in a meeting with the LDA Vice Chairman S M Imran. In addition, the prime minister asked the VC to ensure expedition of the development work underway to launch the River Ravi Urban Development (RRUD) project. He said that the hurdles hindering the initiation of water level rising and wastewater treatment project to be removed promptly. The PM opined that the LDA should take effective steps to conserve water for the coming generations.

Earlier, the vice chairman briefed the premiere about the progress of the River Ravi Urban Development (RRUD) project, LDA’s one window operation and land-use rules, among other things. He requested Khan to spare 700 kanals of forest land along the Ravi River for the establishment of forests and urged him to direct the National Highways Authority (NHA) to construct overhead bridges across the said river.
