Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has issued directions for all provincial chief secretaries to formulate a joint strategy to provide relief in the form of oil price reductions to common citizens, according to news sources.

The premiere issued these warnings while chairing a meeting to review the steps being taken to control the prices of essential items. He said that the reduction in petroleum prices by the government was aimed to provide all possible relief to the people. Khan directed the concerned authorities to also take effective measures against hoarders and take action against profiteers.

Additionally, the provincial chief secretaries briefed the prime minister on measures taken to ensure the reduction in the prices of essential commodities across the country.
Meanwhile, the oil prices have further fallen in the international market on Tuesday – as Brent crude oil and United States oil dropped by 0.5% and 0.6% respectively.
