Islamabad: The Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Tuesday (November 23) directed the concerned authorities to expedite work on the Phase-II of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), news sources reported.

He said this while presiding over a meeting of the Prime Minister’s Priority Sectors Committee. In the meeting, it was informed that the work on gas and electricity supply is underway in the Rashakai, Dhabeji, Allama Iqbal, and Bostan Special Economic Zones (SEZs).

According to the details released, the premier stated that the government’s aim should be to identify export-related industries, improve business opportunities, and provide ease of doing business in the country. He stated that industrial strategy should prioritise employment development and opportunity for the general public. Furthermore, the Board of Investment informed the meeting that it is working to consolidate construction-related information and regulations under one roof. It was also revealed that government agencies are working on a CPEC plug-and-play model in which industrialists would be helped through internet platforms without the need for lengthy formalities.
