Haripur: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Monday (January 17) launched the Pakistan Digital City-Special Technology Zone (STZ) project at the Pak-Austria Institute of Applied Sciences in Mang, According to news reports. The digital city project, which would span over an area of 86 kanals along Khanpur Road would cost PKR 1.31 billion to complete.

Speaking at the ceremony, the premier stated that the project will be a state-of-the-art STZ with the goal of offering the best facilities for the country’s youth. The initiative will foster cooperation between academics, researchers, and industry from both inside and outside the country. He said that the project will benefit the industries such as electronics, software, mobile phones, technological incubators, and computer manufacturing.

In related news, Khan presided over a meeting at KP Governor House and announced that the government has boosted the combined district’s development budget to PKR 54 billion. He stated that the budget has been doubled in order to enable and promote accessibility in the province’s distant and less developed areas. Moreover, he stated that the merged districts are a top priority in the administration development plan. He stated that the province’s tourist industry is poised to reap the benefits of international tourism.
