Dasu: Prime Minister Imran Khan paid a visit to the Dasu Dam construction site on Friday to inspect the progress of the project according to news sources.

During the visit, the PM was informed by the project’s foreign workers and engineers. During a press conference, the Prime Minister underlined that dam building is critical for the country since it would assist overcome the challenges of power generation and water scarcity. He also stated that this project will deliver clean and inexpensive electricity to meet the country’s power demands. It will also lessen the burden on consumers and aid in the reduction of inflation.

According to reports, the first phase of the project would be complete by 2025 and will cost PKR 511 billion. The project will contribute 2,160 megawatts of power to the national grid. Whenever it reaches the second phase in 2029, the capacity will rise to 4,320 megawatts.
