Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has formed a cabinet committee for finalising recommendations on the Bhara Kahu Bypass project, according to news published on November 12.

The news source mentioned that the committee will present the recommendations before the federal cabinet for the final decision regarding the alignment of the Bhara Kahu Bypass project that crosses the portion of Quaid-e-Azam University. It was stated that the committee is expected to finalise the recommendation within five days.
The development work on the said project is progressing at a fast pace except for the portion of Quaid-e-Azam University. It is important to note that the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has granted a stay on the development work due to a petition filed by the university teachers.

As per the details, the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA’s) contractor – National Logistics Cell (NLC) – has been doing piling work on the one-kilometre-long flyover project, which is part of the Bhara Kahu bypass project. The CDA officials (whose names were not disclosed) mentioned that the project is expected to be completed within four months.
