Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has directed the chief secretaries of all the provinces to submit a roadmap for introducing ‘one-window facility’ and online approvals of ‘permits, fee payments and parallel working of all departments related to the housing sector’ within a week, according to a news source published on July 24.

Khan was chairing a meeting of the National Coordination Committee (NCC) on Housing, Construction and Development. He directed for the completion of the government’s approvals like no-objection certificate (NOCs) and others, within the communicated time frame. He warned that the officials found negligent in their duties or causing unnecessary hurdles will be strictly dealt with.

While addressing the meeting, the premier said that the government is resolved to offer ease and provide facilitation to a maximum number of people who are availing the incentive package formulated for the construction sector. He called for the utilisation of Information Technology tools in all levels of the construction sector – to make it swift and easier.
Regarding the mortgage facility for low-cost houses’ construction, Khan directed the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and the Ministry of Finance and Revenue to finalise the process to offer a subsidy to banks.
