Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has summoned a price control meeting to discuss the issue of rising inflation in Pakistan, a news source reported.

According to details, chief ministers from all four province, as well as chief secretaries, would attend the meeting. The attendees will provide a briefing to PM Khan on the measures taken by their respective ministries to reduce inflation in Pakistan. The meeting will also discuss the hike in prices for sugar, fruits, vegetables, pulses, oil, ghee, and flour.
During the meeting, the PM is expected to issue directions to the departments concerned for reducing inflation in Pakistan. On the other hand, he will also receive a briefing on the effects of the anti-hoarding ordinance.

In April, the government had provided a notification of an anti-hoarding ordinance to monitor goods shortages and profiteering that causes artificial inflation during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
