Islamabad: While heading a meeting pertaining to housing schemes in Islamabad on Wednesday, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan was briefed about the effective usage of government land under the Naya Pakistan Housing Project (NPHP), a news source reported. The PM said that this project was the largest endeavor being taken up by the government, and it is expected to fulfil the gap in demand for housing, as well as boost the economy.

Secretary Housing and Works Dr Imran Zeb told the PM that 45 acres of land in sector G-13 in the capital could be used for the construction of high-rise residential and commercial buildings. The area could be used for commercial, business and residential purposes. Zeb said that it could open up avenues for local and international investment opportunities.

The members of the meeting discussed various other housing projects across the country. Zeb also briefed the PM about usage of government land in Chamba House, Lahore, Kashmir Point and Qasre Naz, Karachi. The PM then reassured investors that the government will do almost anything in their power to provide opportunities for the construction industry, and assist them in any way they can.
