Peshawar: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has approved the development of the Rashakai Special Economic Zone (SEZ) — with the project falling under the auspices of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative, a news source reported. As per the publication, the incumbent government expects the project to create jobs for 200,000 people.

Advisor to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) on Information Ajmal Khan Wazir talked to media persons about the project. He said that the Rashakai SEZ would receive an investment worth PKR 4 billion and bring a new area of development in the province. He revealed that investors would have access to special facilities in the project and many people would receive job opportunities. He opined that this would help improve the overall economic situation of the country.
Meanwhile, addressing a public meeting in Swabi last week, the CM had revealed that the Rashakai SEZ was ready for inauguration soon.

The CM’s advisor also said that Rashakai would be the first model economic zone of the country. He added that it would connect Pakistan to Afghanistan and Ventral Asian States via the Khyber Economic Corridor.
