Taxila: Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved funds amounting to PKR 4 billion for development of gas infrastructure in Attock, according to the Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam – a news source reported on Sunday. The funds will be utilised for expanding gas network in the city.

According to details, under this development package, work on a 28-km long pipeline with a diametre of 24-inches will be started in order to address the issue of low gas pressure in Attock City, Hazro and Hassan Abdal.
PKR 3 million will allocated for work in Hazro, which will be completed within a few months. Meanwhile, PKR 500 million will be dedicated for establishing a gas pipeline that will run through Attock, Hazro and Hassan Abdal.

A summary for proposal to provide gas to 35 villages of Jand, Pindigheb, and Fatehjang has also been finalised and dispatched to Economic Cooperation Council, so that PKR 1.8 billion can be released for it.
