Wanna: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Wednesday announced an annual uplift package worth PKR 100 billion for the newly merged tribal districts of the erstwhile FATA region, a news source reported.

He made the announcement while addressing a gathering in South Waziristan. He said that a development package of this size was unprecedented in Pakistan’s national history.
The prime minister said that his government would issue ‘Sehat Insaf’ cards for the families residing in the said regions. Under this initiative, people will be able to avail medical treatment of up to PKR 7.2 million.
Moreover, the health ministry would appoint qualified and experienced surgeons and doctors in hospitals – besides issuing a special employment quota for the youth.

Other planned facilities include the construction of modern roads, two degree colleges, a sports complex, grid stations, and a solar power project to address the region’s energy crisis.
