Lahore: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday announced the government’s decision to provide 3G/4G services in Waziristan from January 20 onwards, a news source reported. He expressed his views on the matter during a ceremony held to distribute cheques to successful applicants of the Kamyab Jawan Loan Scheme and the Youth Internship Scheme.

He said that the 3G/4G services were important for pursuing education and development and it was a justified demand of the youth of the area. He explained that security issues had impeded the provision of 3G/4G services in the past.

He assured the locals that his government was fully committed to work for the welfare of the tribal districts. He also added that the government was working on bringing an ‘olive revolution’ in the area since it is the best region for growing olives. He added that the government had conducted a survey and will commence with the plantation drive starting month.
